- An update on the old man for everyone. After a scary few days when he didn't seem to recognize us, he seems to be at least partly back and semi mobile. His right leg is still paralyzed and he has no feeling in it, but he seems to be able to use it. Left leg seems improved. The seizures continue and we have changed his medication to try to get them under control. He is waking up and calling for help in the early hours of the morning and is unable to control his bladder during a seizure. But he's responding to his name again… At least as much as the stubborn old man used to anyway. And he is being much better with Nanuq after the last few days of acting terrified of his little brother. Not out of the woods yet but we have a go forward and still hoping for the best. #stlloki #siberianhusky #huskiesofinstagram Photo taken yesterday while eating lunch at Have a Cow. - March 10, 2024
- Send good vibes for the old man Loki. #stlloki is in a bad way this week. Suffered several grand mal seizures this week with no identifiable cause and has been left paralyzed in his right leg and partially on his left. His behavior has turned extremely erratic and verging on violent. He's having trouble recognizing people and even Nanuq. Not the best pic I have of him, but one of the most recent of the old man. #siberianhusky #huskiesofinstagram - March 8, 2024
- Night walk through the Redwoods Tree walk in Rotorua… The lights are so beautiful and made for a lovely end to the evening… #newzealand #redwoodstreewalkrotorua - February 1, 2024
I know, I promised an update sooner, but this last week has been bizarre. I’m not going to get into details, but I’ll just suffice to say that this morning I’m sitting in my study with a back-brace on trying desperately not to move for fear of extreme pain. Even typing is a chore because my right hand is hurt.
So is there anything to update? Yeah, a little. I’ve decided in the last few days to buy myself a motorbike for commuting back and forth to work. I’ve actually been toying with the idea for months, but only now have I made the decision to actually pull the trigger and buy it. A friend of mine is selling it to me; a Honda Nighthawk 750. Nice bike… low mileage… killer deal. Already gotten myself a helmet, gloves and a nice new jacket… anyone around town should see me on it sometime around the last two weeks in April. Happy birthday to me 🙂
Speaking of my birthday… yep… it’s coming. Less than a week left. Damn, I feel old.
Not much else to write about today. I still haven’t had a chance to write up that review of Robots on IMDB… but rest assured there WILL be a link. I have been thinking of ways to improve this blog engine and will get down to implementing them soon. Hopefully time should be better this next week; I have a few projects reaching “wind-down” of phase I, and though I already have a new project starting up I’ll not be doing the late night thing like I was before.
I do enjoy my job, but I have to wonder if the new reorganization at work is actually going to amount to much. So far the only thing it’s changed for me is my reporting structure, but that’s only because I have a lot of long-term projects still running that really won’t end for a little while yet. Once those projects wind up though, who knows?
For now I’ll sign off… got coffee to drink and pain killers to consume 🙂
